Obviously I’m late to the game (ha!) (/r/patientgamers) but this world is so far pretty neat to walk around in. There aren’t very many distinct car designs, but so far they haven’t gotten old for me because they seem to fit so well in the world.
I’m working a deal on a 980 ti, at which point I’ll crank everything up to Ultra with the ridiculous 60GB high res texture pack and just... wander.

The Far Harbor expansion (which is definitely worth getting if you don’t have it) did something interesting with that blue van.

Fallout really does retro futurism so well. Wouldn’t be the same without it.

If you need some silly ‘50s instrumental music to listen to while you play, may I recommend the following:
I just happened to be in a discussion with a coworker on the correct name for this style of pizzicato music, so I’ve been digging it up for a couple of minutes.

The thing you are referring to taught my toddler how to say “Holy shit!” because he was watching me play the first time I ran into one of those.

Fallout is my favorite game franchise. FO4 is really immersive. The new Fallout 76 is mostly the same assets, but it’s so much more lush looking.

You don’t even need to be patient
for FO76, you could probably get it now for the same price you bought FO4 for!

Interesting fact: There are actual die-cast models of a couple of vehicles from the Fallout franchise.
There’s a company called The Wand Company, and they produce the Chryslus Fusion Flea in standard and Racing form (you can find the standard one at
ThinkGeek for $100
), they’re 1:18 and also have battery powered features, and come with a few other interesting pieces with it.
They’re also coming out with a 1:18 scale model of the Pick-R-Up as well in the first quarter of next year, probably about the same price. Second in a series, which means more are coming. Hopefully that includes the Chryslus Cherry Bomb.
